My novels were inspired by the many African American, Hispanic, and Russian romance novels I've read over the years. In that time I've noticed that my Haitian-American and Haitian brothers and sisters are not generally represented in any of the romance sub-genres. Where are our heroines and book boyfriends? I believe there is a market for our stories, and I'd like to introduce you to the first in a growing series.
Wait for Me: Part One
Vision Records Book 1
Didier Juste had a plan. Graduate school, an internship with one of the top recording labels in New York City, and ultimately start his own record label under one of the biggest music groups in the country. He’s driven, money hungry, and struggling with a past he can’t seem to escape. His life was going according to plan until the night he meets Serra Jean, a freakishly discerning, sarcastic young college student. She’s sassy, sexy, and effortless. Everything DJ is learning he wants in a woman.
The problem is Serra Jean is seven years younger. By the time DJ discovers Serra isn’t who she really seems, his feelings have already run rampant. And then he discovers the ultimate game changer, her voice. Sparks fly from the moment they meet, but the more they get to know each other the more DJ struggles with his feelings for her and his plan to keep things strictly platonic, strictly business.
Serra, on the other hand, is convinced that something strange is occurring between them. Things mystical enough to prove years later that they are connected to each other in a way neither could have fathomed. Unfortunately for DJ and his past, they are things he’s not entirely ready to accept because what’s a bad boy without a few skeletons in his closet?
Waiting for the Music tackles the growing pains associated with young adults transitioning from college to career, the virtue of patience, and learning to accept the people you love for who they are without compromising your values. At the center of the story is a romance that sees its fair share of trials and tribulations as the main characters push one another—in a battle of wills—almost to the teetering edge.
Wait for Me: Part Two
Vision Records Book 2
It's been five years since Didier Juste last saw Serra Jean. He stayed away, waiting, and vowing to give her the space she needed to grow and heal from their past. And while Serra had learned some things about Didier's childhood, nothing will prepare her for what she is about to discover about the man she loves and thinks she knows.
In this riveting conclusion to the two-part romance, Wait for Me, Didier will be forced to choose between the two things he loves most, his work and Serra. And trust, Serra isn't going to make it easy for him. Then a trip to Haiti, brings up unwanted memories of a past he is either trying to run from, or trying to make up for, but just can't seem to accomplish either.
With the scenic, sultry, but mystical Haitian island as their beautiful backdrop, Didier and Serra will learn they mean more to each other than they could have ever imagined, but will their connection be enough to get them through all the ordeals that await them? Is their love strong enough to endure the havoc his past has made on his emotional and mental health? And is Serra patient enough to do the one thing she's never really been good at and wait... for him?
Vision Records Book 3
Amanda Jacobs is the petite, proper, uptight Events Coordinator at Vision Records, but she wasn’t always the straight and narrow, steadfast, all work and no play type. And to top it all off, she has secrets to make any unworthy man want to run for the hills.
In comes Jason Thomas, Vice President of the record label he and Didier Juste started five years ago. He’s rich, smart, gorgeous, and has a reputation with the ladies. But from the moment Jason meets Amanda, he knows keeping his hands, and his heart to himself in the office is going to be an act of pure self-restraint.
Jason has his own little secret too, he suffers from adult ADHD, and his rash personality might be a little much for Amanda’s stoic demeanor. Can Jason get past Amanda’s perfected indifference and self-imposed walls? Will Amanda ever heal from her haunting past and trust Jason enough, despite his history with the ladies, to let love in? Chasing Moonlight is the story of two perfectly flawed people stumbling through a relationship that is anything but normal while struggling with the pitfalls of engaging in a steamy office romance.
